  • Nederlander Theatre, section: Mezzanine R, row: K, seat: 20
    Schmigadoon!
Legroom isn't terrible, and the rake is steep upstairs. Close enough to read faces comfortably. Narrow seats — beware of wide neighbors.
  • August Wilson Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: AA, seat: 112
    Dog Day Afternoon
Comfortable seat. Photo is zoomed out — the stage is very close. More than usual legroom but not much more. I am tall, so the floor “outside the bank” was at eye level. “Inside the bank” the set is about 6 inches taller. Some of the scenes play very far downstage. I didn't find it to be a neck-craning or whiplash-inducing affair, but I might have found it less pleasant if I was shorter. Chance to catch fake money and get splattered with stage blood (and spit, of course). Unbeatable value for a rush ticket.
  • Music Box Theatre, section: Orchestra L, row: G, seat: 17
    Giant
There is not much of a rake at all in the orchestra. This seat is partial view for Giant but everything is staged very centrally and I didn't feel I missed anything. In fact I gained by sitting this close. Legroom was manageable (6'4”) — there are far worse offenders on Broadway.
  • Broadhurst Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: L, seat: 112
    Cats: The Jellicle Ball
    Perfect view. Long legs beware.
  • Palace Theatre, Broadway, section: Mezzanine L, row: J, seat: 7
    The Lost Boys
  • St. James Theatre, section: Orchestra L, row: B, seat: 11

  • Hayes Theater, section: Orchestra L, row: F, seat: 5
    Becky Shaw
Sold as partial view but no clue why. Nothing was obstructed or out of sight.
  • John Golden Theatre, section: Orchestra R, row: N, seat: 4
    Operation Mincemeat
  • Winter Garden Theatre, section: Mezzanine R, row: A, seat: 28
    Death of a Salesman
Rush seat (partial view). I didn't find there to be much obstruction at all — the actors were in view the whole time. Perhaps just slightly too far to comfortably read faces. Excellent legroom.
  • Vivian Beaumont Theater, section: Orchestra LC, row: L, seat: 207
  • Neil Simon Theatre, section: Orchestra L, row: A, seat: 9
    MJ: The Musical
Fantastic seat, no obstruction. There is no seat in front of this seat in row BB so there is unlimited legroom. Earplugs recommended.
  • Lyric Theatre, section: Dress Circle L, row: B, seat: 13
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Solo lottery. Good legroom and padding on the seats. Could see faces and hear everything clearly. Strongly disliked this show.

  • John Golden Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: D, seat: 120
    Operation Mincemeat
Narrower seat than in many other theatres but better legroom than in many other theatres. The rake is shallow in general in the orchestra, and here your eyes are roughly at stage height. Nothing out of view for Mincemeat. Sound was good but the whole mix was generally quiet — maybe a dead zone for the speakers. Excellent value for a same-day digital rush seat.
  • New Amsterdam Theatre, section: Mezzanine C, row: HH, seat: 110
    Aladdin
Little legroom and poor padding. Terrible audience behavior. The view isn't so bad from here (close enough to see faces) and neither is the sound. Would never pay more than lottery price for this show.
  • Vivian Beaumont Theater, section: Loge LC, row: C, seat: 408
    Ragtime
No issues at all with sound here. Close enough to see faces. Legroom could be better.
  • Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: E, seat: 101
    Buena Vista Social Club
Excellent legroom, sightlines, and sound. The stage is just about at eye level for taller people. Not so excellent padding.
  • Lena Horne Theatre, section: Orchestra L, row: L, seat: 19
    Six
    Student rush, full view
  • Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: K, seat: 103
    Death Becomes Her
Solo lottery. As a 6'4” person, my knee was touching the back of the row in front of me for much of the show, but that happens at many theatres. Still easily 10/10.
  • New Amsterdam Theatre, section: Balcony L, row: E, seat: 15
    Aladdin
Narrow seat, very little legroom. Padding left a lot to be desired. Badly behaved audience — man two seats down from me answered his phone during one of the scenes in Act 1, teenage tourists talking and carrying on in the balcony behind me, people taking photos on their phones with flash during the performance — ushers did nothing at all. Production was underwhelming (OK, except for the magic carpet ride, which is very cool) and the performance by the Genie's standby was frankly disappointing. Would not have paid more than lottery prices for this ticket. To top it all off, I waited 15 minutes in line at the box office to pick up my lottery ticket before the show (no pre-show email) and it took at least 15 minutes to leave the theater from the balcony due to congestion in the stairwells. Bad experience all around.
  • Stephen Sondheim Theatre, section: Orchestra C, row: H, seat: 105
    & Juliet
Fairly wide with plenty of legroom. You sit roughly at the height of the stage (the rake gets steeper after this row). The sound design was impressively dynamic from here. The padding left a lot to be desired.
